Apple is also believed to have placed an order to manufacture 85 to 90 millions of units for its new models with 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch displays to be completed by the end of 2015. It is probably the biggest initial production order placed by Apple. Recently, Taipei Times quoted TPK CEO Michael Chung during the Q2 revenue meeting of the company, “We believe that pressure sensors for force touch panels will see widespread adoption across the mobile-device market this year.” As touted, TPK Holding Co. is the main supplier of Apple for Force Touch panels. The Force Touch technology was first to be found in the Apple Watch and then in the 12-inch MacBook. With this technology, touch pressures of different types can be detected to offer more display options than regular touch to users. Rumors are also suggesting that the upcoming iPhone models would be longer by 0.15 mm and thicker by 0.2 mm to house the new technology. Moreover, they will also have stronger aluminum build of Series 7000. While the upcoming iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s is believed to have the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens respectively as of models released last year, it will have additions such as a 12-MP rear camera, an upgraded FaceTime front camera with flash as well as 1080p recording, advanced Qualcomm LTE modem and 2 GB LPDDR4 RAM.
