Google has introduced the latest feature known as ‘Intensive Wake Up Throttling’ in Chrome 87. The company noticed that this feature decreased Chrome’s CPU usage by up to 5x and increased battery life by up to 1.25 hours. Another feature known as ‘Quick Intensive Timer Throttling’ is being tested by Google, reported About Chromebook. This feature reduces the five-minute grace period to 10 seconds. Further, it allows suspended tabs to immediately decrease CPU utilization and increase battery life and is being tested in the Chrome Canary and Dev versions.
