Three Options to Sent HTML email on Gmail
Option I
To begin with, one needs to export or compose HTML code and save it as a .html file. The editor should save the file as plaintext without any formatting. Even .txt or other extensions cannot be added to the file name as it would result in an incorrect render of the text. Copy the HTML content and insert the same into the Compose window of Gmail. The result will be in text as expected. Send the mail as decided. Mac’s TextEdit would need some extra tweaks to work with HTML. If the file is saved directly, it will automatically take the .txt extension, thereby making the file useless. Ensure to use File>Save on Mac and uncheck the box where it says ‘If no extension is provided, use “txt”.’ Right-click on the file and open it with any browser and it should render properly. Double-check whether or not the file was saved properly.
Option II
This one is a Chrome and Gmail hack. Open the Compose window and right-click anywhere, then select Inspect. Chrome will split up and there would be a pane displaying the HTML of the Compose window itself. Moreover, one part shall be highlighted as well. Search for the “div” marked “contenteditable=true”, then right-click and select Edit as HTML. The part inside of the “div” tag is to be replaced with the HTML code as per requirement. Close the HTML page and the Compose window will have the rendered form of the HTML.
Option III
Various Chrome extensions are there that add an HTML editor to the compose window of Gmail to help you edit HTML easily behind the scenes. Here are some extensions that you can use: Free HTML Editor for Gmail by CloudHQ– This is a robust HTML editor since it includes WYSIWIG design tools. Until the editor is close, it will continue to be like this. GMass– This extension also allows for viewing and setting the HTML into the email Compose window of Gmail.
