The company has enabled WhatsApp VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) for KaiOS-enabled devices worldwide to allow WhatsApp call Jio phone. The update will benefit all smartphone owners who have the latest version of the app on KaiOS devices worldwide, and their phone is equipped with 512MB RAM. Talking about the new WhatsApp call Jio feature, COO Matt Idema, explained that pandemic has increased our dependency on voice calls. He said, “People are relying on WhatsApp now more than ever to communicate and stay in touch with their loved ones. We want to support communities that are on lighter operating systems in many places around the world. Bringing WhatsApp voice calls to KaiOS-enabled devices helps us connect the world privately through a service that is simple, reliable and accessible to everyone – no matter what kind of mobile device they’re using.” WhatsApp entered the KaiOS operating system in September 2018. It was then considered to top the list of KaiOS non-system apps with the highest monthly active users worldwide.
How to enable WhatsApp call Jio phone?
To enable the voice calling feature of WhatsApp:
Download WhatsApp version 2.2110.41 on their devices as this feature is available on the updated version only. Once installed, go to the Options and tap on Voice call of any chat thread available. Users will also be able to attend calls without any hiccups.
To make full use of the WhatsApp call Jio phone, it is necessary to have a stable internet connection else the calls will keep getting reconnected.
